BYOD and iPad Program

Ballarat High School implements a 1:1 Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program in order to deliver relevant education in the 21st Century.

Ballarat High School students, parents and staff communicate, collaborate and learn using relevant and modern online platforms. These include email, edumate, Google Apps for Education, interactive digital textbooks and online video.

7-9 iPads

All of our year 7, 8 and 9 students bring an iPad as their core learning device.

iPads should be configured before your child arrives at the school

10-12 BYOD

Our years 10, 11 and 12 students may continue to bring an iPad or prefer to transition to a Windows or MAC laptop.

Senior student laptops need to be configured at the school ICT support office. The device will need to be left with the support team before school and collected after school. In the first few weeks of school there will be significant delays.

The Support team are generally onsite from mid January. Contact support@ballaraths.net to arrange device configuration before the start of school rush.

E-Safety

All students and parents should read and understand the Ballarat High School Acceptable Usage Policy before using a BYOD device within the school.

Parents and families play a critical role in ensuring the online safety and wellbeing of their children. The school runs a number of cyber-safety initiatives at various year levels, these are more effective when they are reinforced with support and guidance from home.
