Boat Club

Launching a rowing program in 1912, Ballarat High School enjoyed early successes, including in the prestigious Head of the Lake.

To support the ongoing viability, growth and success of the program, the Boat Club was formed. The ambition of this committee was to raise funds to purchase equipment and improve facilities, to provide Ballarat High School students an equitable opportunity to compete with other participating schools.

The first official meeting was held on 25 June 1974 and the committee has gone from strength to strength since, raising an average of $30,000, and up to $70,000 each year.

Ballarat High School honours all Boat Club committee members, and those who have supported their efforts, whose work has driven our successes through three boat shed extensions, the purchase of 40 boats and provision of other equipment.
